The Royal Thai Embassy in the USA divided the 50 American states into four jurisdiction areas for legalizing documents, through:
- The Thai consulate in Washington D.C
- The Thai consulate in New York
- The Thail consulate in Chicago
- The Thail consulate in Los Angeles
By this new system, the documents originating from the state of Ohio must receive legalization via the Thai Consulate in New York, after getting the certification, exclusively, from the Ohio Secretary of State.
The document authentication and legalization process for Ohio-issued documents by the New York Thai Consulate has four cases. Please choose your document case from the following:
Case A: Company documents signed and notarized by a notary public within the jurisdiction of Ohio. Examples: Power of Attorney, Agency Agreement, Business Letter, etc.
Case B: Documents that have been certified by the Ohio Secretary of State. Example: Certificate of Good Standing.
Case C: Documents originating from federal government entities. Examples: FDA, USDA, USPTO, FBI, etc.
Case D: Personal documents. Examples: Birth Certificate, Marriage Licenses, Single Status declarations, etc.

Case A: If you possess a company document that has been signed and notarized within the state of Ohio, you are required to adhere to the following formal procedures:
1. Certification by the Ohio Secretary of State:

- Include a Check or Money Order for the sum of $9.00 per document, payable to the "Consulate of Thailand In New York."
- Anticipate a processing time of 5 business days.
Case B: If you possess a certified document by the Ohio Secretary of State, you are required to adhere to the following formal procedures:
1. Authentication by the U.S. Department of State:
